Do you ever find yourself wondering What If? Perhaps you review your decisions in your head, over and over, wondering if you made the right decision. You could even be second guessing a decision that you made years ago that you have been living in regret for. Always second guessing yourself causes pain and frustration. My question for you is this:

In life, we are faced with daily decisions that must be made. When we struggle with making a decision, our forward progression stops. Though not all of our decisions will move us forward, we do not want to make mistakes that bring us to a halt.

Let me ask you a question. What decisions have you made already today? Perhaps a few simple ones like these:
What you wanted to wearWhat you wanted to eatWhat time you got upIf you would workoutIf you would showerIf you would go to workIf you would take the day offIf you would go on vacationHow you would get to work
As human beings, we are continually making decisions, and we are second guessing ourselves constantly! When was the last time you got dressed, left for the day and then wished you had not worn a particular article of clothing or the shoes that you chose? This is just a simple example. The real pain is caused when we second guess our bigger decisions. If we do not STOP second guessing the small stuff, we will not gain control of the more painful situations where we re-evaluate ourselves.

Here are a few things that you can do so that you begin to stop second guessing yourself so much:
  1. Trust Yourself. Learn to trust your gut feelings.
  2. Get enough information that you can make a clear decision. Do your due diligence to know that you are making the right choice.
  3. Respect your doubts. This is part of trusting yourself. Learn when those doubts are real and when they are fear-based.
  4. Stop going in circles. Make your decision and stick with it. Learn what your triggers of self-doubt are and overcome them.
  5. Stay true to your Values and Beliefs. Honor who you are at all times. Be willing to stand strong in your values and not make compromises.
