In our world right now, we see turmoil, change, fear, and a lot of the unknown. We are faced with things most of us have never ever had to deal with, but even amongst this difficult time, if we want to see change in our lives, it falls back on Genuine Gratitude.
It has been proven repeatedly how Gratitude is the way to Abundance and that true happiness is a direct product of having Gratitude. Obviously, Gratitude is the Key! If we genuinely want to live happy lives, gratitude at all levels becomes the key. How would your life be changed if you were to up-level it through being more grateful?
We live in a world where we hustle and bustle around feeling as though we do not have time to really “smell the roses”, yet we wonder why we feel overwhelmed, stressed out, anxious and frustrated on a regular basis. There is always a list of things that we should be doing and places where we need to be, right? So how do we balance it all and feel as though we are not going crazy?
Our lives are always changing, and we are forever faced with daily decisions on how we act, what we say to others and how we feel about ourselves. If you want to change your life and you want to see immediate results, focus on Gratitude! Gratitude is the Ultimate Magnifier. It will create more of what you want if it is your focus.
If you want more abundance in your life, find Gratitude. Embrace Gratitude with every part of yourself. Have an Attitude of Gratitude in everything you do. Attitudes are contageous…..is your attitude worth catching? Let’s think about that. Are people attracted to you and do you have an abundance of friends and clients that are thrilled to be with you? Take a look at your attitude.
What we focus on is what we receive, even magnified. Many years ago, OPRAH WINFREY said this: “What you focus on expands, and when you focus on the goodness in your life, you create more of it. Opportunities, relationships, even money flowed my way when I learned to be grateful no matter what happened in my life.” I love that not only do we hear this from real people, but from famous, successful ones too……Focus on Gratitude and your life will change. Thus, making it a GAME CHANGER!!
What I have found is that Gratitude is best described as being Thankful, but it is also your complete Attitude. It is a belief and an action. It does not come easily until you have made the Decision about it and decided that you truly want happiness to be your focus and that you want to learn and grow from the things that you face on a daily basis. Then, it becomes easier.
What we focus on is what we create more of in our lives, so that means if we focus on the negative, we get more negative, but if we focus on the positive, we get more positive. When we focus on being grateful, we have more to be grateful for. When we focus on how to find the gratitude in our everyday life and even those things that are challenging, we find that we have additional strength and that we are blessed beyond measure.
I love what Hal Elrod had to say about this; “Gratitude and Complaining cannot co-exist simultaneously, YOU must choose the one that best serves you.” This is absolute truth. You must choose what serves you and live it. They cannot both be working simultaneously. What do you choose, Gratitude or Complaining?
I teach others a concept that I would like you to consider. Generic Gratitude to me is when we are grateful for the ordinary things in our lives, or maybe I should call them our comforts in life. For example, to have a roof over your head, a warm comfy bed to sleep in and an abundance of food to eat. Perhaps you are grateful for a good job, great clothes, jewelry, hot water and your family or your spouse and children. We are grateful for rain, sun and our beautiful world. I am even Grateful for all of my many Shoes!! While we must be grateful for all of this and then some, in fact, the list could go on forever. I want you to know that it is especially important to have Generic Gratitude. We are a blessed Nation. As a people we have more than over 80% of the world. Yet we always want more, right? Without Gratitude for what we have right now, we will not be able to attract more. So, make sure that you have Gratitude in all things. These things are easy to have gratitude for and so easily that we sometimes take them for granted.
Now, I want you to consider what I call Genuine Gratitude. This is much tougher to be grateful for. This comes when we are profoundly grateful for the Trials and Challenges in our life. CRAZY, right? NO!
When we are truly grateful for our struggles through challenges and trials and are open to learning the lessons being taught, we grow. We will learn and grow so much faster if we will be grateful for our tough times. These times are here to teach us and if we will embrace it, learn from it, and be grateful, truly grateful, our trials will not be such a burden. It is when we will embrace our struggles, look outside of ourselves and see what others are suffering from, that is when we realize that everyone is going through tough things and we are all handling it at different levels.
My challenge to you is to learn how to have Genuine Gratitude for your trials just as you would your blessings and fully embrace happiness for yourself, even amidst your toughest times. I have lived it both ways, and what I have found is that when you have Gratitude while struggling through difficulties your life becomes blessed. Others will reach out to you and assist you and you will find that the perfect things start to surround you. When you have gratitude, others see your value and step up for you in ways you never thought possible. I found this quote that I find so true: “At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” –Albert Schwitzer
After working with hundreds of clients over the past several years, I came up with a new acronym for how I see we get to implement and take action in our lives at a bigger level. It is how “GROW in Genuine Gratitude” is KEY. You can watch a 15 minute video that covers this in great depth HERE.
Here is the acronym I teach about Gratitude:
GROW in Genuine Gratitude:
- Goodness: Find the greater good. Get good at giving and receiving. Be generous. Goodness comes from your heart. This becomes second nature. So how is this done easily?
Focus on what you have, not on what you do not have.
Focus on what is working, not on what is not working.
Focus on being in Grateful, not on being ungrateful.
Focus on how you can serve others, not how others can serve you.
- Ready: Be ready to show it, ready to find the good, responsible. John F. Kennedy said: “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live them.”
- Open: Be willing to see it differently, striving to find the good. Looking beyond the difficulty/situation. Oprah Winfrey said this: “What you focus on expands, and when you focus on the goodness in your life, you create more of it. Opportunities, relationships, even money flowed my way when I learned to be grateful no matter what happened in my life.” I love that not only do we hear this from real people, but from famous successful ones to……Focus on Gratitude and your life will change. Thus making it a GAME CHANGER!!
- Written: Keep a Gratitude journal. Write Thank you cards, e-mails, and give outside recognition. I have LOVED having a Gratitude Journal. I have seen significant change in my life by having one.
I encourage you to join me and watch this episode to find out how this can relate to your life and how you can be more successful by implementing more gratitude. It is incredible to see your results soar as you change your life and your focus. Right now, more than ever we get to find Gratitude for all we are going through and all we are learning in the process.
